Job description
We are currently looking to appoint a Director Construction. Reporting into the Project Director your prime purpose is to ensure the safe and effective construction of our project scope of work. You will oversee the Project Management Consultant (PMC) Construction Manager who will in turn manage a mix of site contractors performing the work. The overall accountability of this role is to ensure that the PMC holds the contractor responsible for construction in accordance with scope, on time, to quality standards and on budget. You will also proactively monitor the performance of all construction works and report accordingly with a strong focus on risk management and escalate performance related issues in accordance with Roy Hill processes where required.
Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate
- Minimum of 15 years leadership experience in overseeing construction with at least 5 years in remote locations;
- Experience as lead construction manager on site in excess of 1,000 people;
- Qualifications in Engineering, Frontline Management and significant knowledge of Industrial Relations;
- Ability to work under pressure and able to audit and verify construction milestone delivery reports.
This is a 4 year fixed term role, based on-site at the Roy Hill Mine. A site 3:1 roster is required, with travel to rail camps and port areas as required.
