This is a unique opportunity to own and execute the emerging technology strategy for Hosting and Cloud products for a range of corporate and federal government clients.
Reporting into the Group Executive for Hosting, you will develop the strategy for Hosting go-to-market, define the products to support that strategy, develop these products, and take them to market. The Emerging Technology team is made up of product managers that collectively own all of the Hosting product families, their products, commercial terms, and positioning.
Strategic business planning – market and competitive positioning and profitability analysis
New product vision – evaluation of emerging technologies, products, vendors and competitive landscape
Product Roadmap planning – turning vision into executable initiatives
Product Management – execution of new products and Hosting strategies, product lifecycle management, build, test and deployment
Strategy communication, presentations and product evangelism
Pricing, positioning, and other commercial and commoditisation considerations
Sales enablement and customer intimacy
Team leadership – manage, mentor and develop a team of product specialists
Desired Skills and Experience
The General Manager for Emerging Technology in Hosting/Cloud will be:
A strong people manager, capable of motivating and mentoring a team of product specialists
Capable of product managing technology products – defining, designing, and bringing to market
Skilled in high-level strategic, business and competitive analysis and research
A strong relationship builder, with customer-facing and negotiation experience
Capable project manager with stakeholder negotiation skills
Team player, able to motivate and manage cross-functional virtual teams
Possess great presentation and speaking skills with the ability to communicate product strategy to various audiences
Experienced in technical Solution design, UX, technical writing and documentation
Commercial, financial, and numerical literacy and analysis
Significant experience in either the Hosting industry (infrastructure / cloud); OR operational experience in a mid to large sized technology company.
A self-driver with a high level of ownership, accountability and persistence
Customer facing experience is also highly desirable.
