The Role
The Customer Director VIC will manage the business and maintain excellent relationships with the customer, whilst growing the business and profitability of the area of responsibility. They will ensure that projects are delivered in compliance with the contract terms and conditions. The role will also focus on running the Local business from tender to project closing, and beyond (eg on spares), business development, prior to Go/No Go, for existing customers, up to contract closure. The Customer Director VIC will report to the Managing Director Transport, Australia and New Zealand.
Key responsibilities include:
To be the main Company interface with the Customers and the region representative with local partners on all relevant tenders and contracts execution.
To develop and maintain excellent relationships with them.
To lead and negotiate any commercial negotiations on behalf of ALSTOM Transport with the Customers and partner, including tenders from Go/No Go to contract signature.
To agree and negotiate any variation orders or contractual changes with the Customers.
To ensure the Customers projects are delivered in accordance with the contract, via a project organisation, with direct responsibility for Project Managers seconded by the Product Lines in Operations
To feed all relevant information on the opportunities, tenders and projects to region management
To ensure that project margins and cash flow are maintained and delivered.
Manage the exposure to contractual & technical risks, international environment and constraint and effect on future business.
Manage according to Company business processes and in particular Impact.
To budget as required, eg sales, orders, Order Round Forecast.

Key attributes
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:
Tertiary qualifications in related field
A reasonable level of technical competence in ALSTOM Transport products
Good leadership and management skills
Good commercial, negotiation and financial skills
Able to build good relationships with Customers and Partners
Results-driven
