The opportunity
Based in our Head Office, North Sydney, this newly created role offers an exciting opportunity to take our broker distribution to the next level. Reporting in to the Executive General Manager – Commercial, you will lead the development and the execution of the Sales and Distribution strategy for Zurich’s General Insurance Commercial segment. With a key focus on our key broker partner programs, Zenith, Broker Plus and Strategic Alliances,, you will ensure Zurich’s commercial value proposition is delivered effectively to market to maximise the acquisition, growth and retention of business.


Responsibilities include:
Lead, coach, develop the team and positively influence and impact the culture
Establish and foster close relationships with key customers with a focus on achieving the growth aspirations of the Commercial segment
Work with strategic distribution partners to plan, build and achieve annual Financial budgets and identify key growth opportunities
Improve sales effectiveness by developing or adopting distribution management practices and operational metrics to ensure optimum sales productivity across the Commercial sales team
Champion the development of a sales culture within the organisation including the building of sales capability for all market facing roles across the Commercial segment
Collaborate with marketing and other stakeholders to develop and execute successful broker events including conference activities, the Broker Advisor Group and social functions
Lead Distribution for Quality Assurance across the Commercial segment
Manage and negotiate distributor compensation including distributor’ agreement and terms of business with Zurich

Your skills and experience:
Extensive experience in a broad business market facing role within the General Insurance market
Demonstrated track record of growing a business and delivering change in a complex insurance environment
Ability to develop and execute on strategic plans, P&L results and company initiatives
Superior interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships internally and externally
University degree or business related qualification preferred

To be successful in this role you will also have strong business acumen and the ability to inspire and lead a team to achieve organisational goals. You are confident to provide innovative solutions and optimise resources by leveraging the utilisation of data analytics and market intelligence. You will have a reputation in the market where our customers are keen to engage with you and undertake business opportunities.
