Account Manager - Edelman - Sydney


Job description

We’re looking for a self-starter to join our rapidly expanding corporate team as an Account Manager in our Sydney office. You will need a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working in corporate communications, either agency or in-house.

The ideal candidate must have a bank of local media contacts; a proven ability to project manage communication programs for leading businesses and brands; as well as the ability to interact and mentor others within their team.

You’ll join an agile and energetic environment that provides a range of services including public relations; digital production; research and creative.

About the role:

You’ll be the day-to-day contact, working on communication programs designed to build and protect the corporate brand and reputation for key Edelman clients.
You should have a proven ability to work with senior business leaders to identify and manage reputational issues.
As an excellent writer and communicator you’re able to articulate an idea via a broad range of mediums, recognising that knowing how to write for an audience, whether in a major daily or on social media is imperative.
Engage with clients, senior business leaders, stakeholders with the requisite professionalism and sound judgement.
Keep across the trends that affect the industry and adapt communication programs to respond to the changing media landscape
Play a central role in new business development and team management.

Desired Skills and Experience

Outstanding account and time management skills – experience working across multiple accounts/projects and the ability to deliver work in a fast-paced environment.
Have the confidence to develop and present your ideas to your peers and clients.
Strong media relations experience and sense for what is driving the news agenda. You’ll be required to pitch to and work with a broad range of media.
Proficient in research and communications methodology – we’re looking for someone with the confidence and presence of mind to present ideas and write compelling, well researched material based on strategic insights.
Curious and keen learn new skills whether that’s developing videos, creating mobile apps or websites.
Be a strong team player – you will play a key role in the success of our business and work closely with senior staff while playing a leadership and mentoring role with junior staff.
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
