Senior Quality Engineer - Cummins - Perth


Job description

Based in our state-of-the-art Master Rebuild Centre (MRC) in Perth and reporting directly to the MRC Manager, we are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to help drive and develop supplier quality systems including supplier assessments, product parts approval processes and customer feedback initiatives.

Key accountabilities of the role include:
Maintain accreditation of the Master Rebuild Centre (MRC) to ISO9001 2008 and the facilitation of 3rd party audits to same
Overall Quality strategy, standards, quality assurance, system management and quality control functions of the MRC
Assess, establish, maintain and develop quality processes and procedures aligned to the business unit customer requirements, including internal and external supplier quality management
Assess and maintain effective corrective action systems
Ensure the quality of new/change product/process development (i.e. VPI, New/change product or process introduction)
Work with Product and Manufacturing Engineering Functions to ensure continuous improvement in process and product design to exceed customer expectations
Develop and provide inspection/test instructions, measurement input for incorporation into process flow

It is anticipated that success in this role will be founded upon the use of five Core Tools:
Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
Product Part Approval Process (PPAP)
Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Measurement System Analysis (MSA)
Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Ideally, we are seeking candidates possessing:
Engineering degree in a relevant engineering discipline complimented by a minimum of 5 years Quality experience, ideally within an automotive or engine manufacturing environment
Knowledge and experience of ISO9001:2008 compliance requirements
Quality auditor qualifications
Solid Quality environment experience including error proofing, process and change control, corrective action implementation
Demonstrated knowledge and capability in the use of the five Core Tools
Excellent computer software skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
The ability to work autonomously whilst maintaining a team ethic and as part of a larger team
Highest commitment to customer service and workplace safety
A current valid driver’s license
