Job description
Define and conduct ongoing government-focused technology research and analysis either in a specific or multiple areas of expertise as defined by primary coverage expectations:
Digital Government
ERP/CRM Implementation
Business Process Management
Legacy Modernization
Secondary coverage might include: IT procurement, ERP/CRM implementation, IT Strategy & Governance, Big Data, Information Management, Social Media, Open Data
Perform research by reading, networking with clients, vendors and analysts, evaluating and analyzing information and participating in Research Meetings and other activities which comprise the Gartner research process
Add value to the research by analysis (which may include triangulation, pattern recognition, application of experience)
Deliver inquiry on covered topics to a broad government client base
Create specified volumes of written documentation of research in fulfillment of our commitment to clients.
Create materials for and delivers presentations to clients via face-to-face or webinars.
Visit client/prospects with sales for identification of opportunities and to drive new business and retention
Provide sales support by speaking to prospective and existing clients via telephone, by making face-to face sales calls with sales personnel and by delivering pitches as appropriate
Contextualize or produce original research on key topics facing APAC public sector departments and jurisdictions
Become a regular commentator to media following ICT related announcements in APAC public sector
Desired Skills and Experience
20 plus years experience working within technology field
Bachelor's degree in related field; Masters preferred
Significant applicable experience in the government market/industry, to be accepted by clients as an expert/guru.
Deep understanding of the technology/industry/market of IT solutions, vendors
Experience running a government user technology department, vendor product manager, financial industry technology analyst or senior consultant in government industry. Experience in complex government domains such as Defense, Social Security, Tax and Revenue Management is welcome.
Strong communicator who is able to explain complex concepts both concisely and simply
