Product Marketing Manager - ANZ - Google - Sydney


Job description
As a Marketing manager, you are a fully dedicated business leader, shaping the future of one of our many Google products. Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (AdWords, AdSense, DoubleClick, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the voice of the product and help it grow a loyal consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. The role enables you to shape the product development process, organize product launches from beginning to end and form future marketing strategy.

You have a strong understanding of marketplace dynamics, how to design and execute promotional campaigns, work with product teams to launch new products, liaise with partners on co-marketing initiatives, and work with external agencies on creative and event-based projects.

Responsibilities
Develop positioning, marketing strategy and key messages.
Design and project-manage effective marketing campaigns to drive product awareness and usage, applying rigorous tracking and analysis to determine ROI.
Work cross-functionally to ensure alignment with outbound marketing and PR campaigns as well as work closely with media and creative agencies to drive creative development and effective media planning and execution.
Use primary and secondary research as well as internal data and competitive intelligence to develop deep understanding of the market, consumers usage patterns.
Challenge traditional marketing practices and develop innovative ways of reaching out to and educating users including working with retail partners to bring Google products to life in retail environments.

Minimum Qualifications

BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.
Experience in a marketing or product marketing role with a consumer-facing focus in electronic, digital media, mobile or e-commerce business.

Preferred Qualifications

Extensive experience in a marketing or product marketing role with a consumer-facing focus in electronic, digital media, mobile or e-commerce business.
Solid understanding and knowledge of the tech, entertainment and mobile industries is key to the role. Up-to-date on groundbreaking web/technology trends and innovative implementations a very welcome addition.
Strong communication and organizational skills and strong ability to comfortably interface with all levels of management and to communicate cross-functionally in a structured and clear manner to influence outcomes.
