General Manager - Surface Engineering - Shell - Perth

A great career opportunity is now available in Shell Australia. As a member of Shell’s Development LNG & Integrated Gas Leadership team, the successful candidate will be based in Perth and will lead the Surface Engineering efforts of some 35 technical staff located in both Perth (approx. 23 staff) and Bangalore, India, (approx. 12 staff).

The role is responsible for the front-end concept & process engineering across Shell’s global upstream and midstream Integrated Gas development opportunities, both operated and non-operated assets. Currently Australia is the centre of gravity in the Integrated Gas portfolio, hence the work location in Perth.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting LNG and FLNG opportunity maturation, Integrated Gas Upstream opportunities and existing assets. You will provide Surface Engineering support to large, integrated LNG/FLNG/Gas Projects, being accountable for these elements in new business development support, the preparation of feasibility studies, business organisation design and business development plans. The position will also be responsible for the quality of engineering deliverables prepared by your team in support of the business, including technical steer, assurance and compliance with policies, processes and standards. You will drive business improvement in your area and maintain and resource a high performing front-end engineering team.


Requirements

The successful candidate will be degree qualified in Discipline or Process Engineering or equivalent, and have broad technical experience across Upstream & LNG Mid-Stream oil & gas including process engineering, front-end engineering, development planning, project execution and operations.

You will have significant experience in leading multi-discipline teams in different work locations with staff from a wide range of nationalities, and your leadership style will be collaborative and supportive. You will understand the importance of building strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
