Commercial Director - Foxtel - North Ryde

2014 will be an exciting year here at Foxtel and a vital stepping stone in our Evolution. With the advent of our Triple Play offering and other exciting initiatives we are now looking to recruit a Senior Commercial professional to partner with our Sales & Marketing and Customer Service & Installations divisions at the executive level.
This new role will be crucial to ensuring that the commercial integrity of these divisions is aligned to our long term strategic goals. Operationally this will mean leading two commercial teams to provide strong commercial analysis and insights.
Other key responsibilities will include:-
Managing the annual budgeting process and reporting of financial performance
Identifying key issues/challenges and making recommendations that optimise financial outcomes
Ensure proactive business case preparation and approval for unbudgeted activity
Develop business unit annual operating plan that is aligned with Foxtel's strategic goals
Guide the commercial teams in applying rigorous and practical analysis to business cases to assist leaders in making the best possible commercial decisions
Recruit, promote and recognise team members based on their performance and contribution
Appropriately delegate responsibility that clearly focuses on accountability and authority through robust KPIs.

7-10 years' experience in a commercial role, with at least 5 years as a Commercial Manager
Proven ability to drive and deliver real business change. Strong commercial and business acumen with excellent analytical skills
A proven strategic thinker with the ability to change concepts into compelling commercial arguments
Ability to build and develop strong, open, productive relationships with clients to enable you to act as a key commercial advisor on business changes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in presenting analysis and findings at Executive level
A keen interest in developing direct reports competencies and capabilities
Ability to drive and be accountable for team performance
Genuine interest in commercial issues relating to Foxtel
Media industry experience an advantage but not essential
Advanced Excel and Advanced/Intermediate PowerPoint Skills
Detailed understanding of accounting principles
Strong financial analysis and modelling skills
Ability to critically evaluation proposals and opportunities and offer commercial judgements
Ability to analyse agreements and legal documents
Ability to provide detailed analysis to non-finance business managers
Previous experience developing complex business cases and financial analysis models
