Job Overview
The Director, Specialist Sales will have responsibility of leading a team of specialist sales people across ANZ in the Networking & Security \(NSX\) and Software Defined Data Centre \(SDDC\) portfolio areas\. This is a senior role and will report to the VP of the ANZ Business and sit on the ANZ Leadership team\. Responsibilities • Manage and develop a specialist sales team who are responsible for selling the VMware NSX, Enterprise Management and Storage portfolio of solutions and associated services
• Establish and position VMware as a thought leader in these areas through engagement with the Marketing and individual Business Unit functions in ANZ as well as APJ and Global where needed\. • Influences strategy, engagement, channel and customer interactions at a director level across the business • Leverage VMware’s core sales teams and partner network to accelerate go\-to\-market for the specialist solution sets • Be actively involved at a senior contact level within accounts and partners as required to accelerate sales and drive further revenue • Mentor and coach the sales team on complex enterprise sales campaigns across these specialist areas • Ensure required reporting and forecasting are completed in a timely manner • Work with the core sales teams and Sales Leaders to prioritize target accounts, prospects and engagement models • Develop an overall sales strategy for the specialist team alongside the broader VMware Sales Leadership team and assist in setting and driving individual account plans for each key account, jointly with the core sales team

Education and Experience • Significant experience selling complex Enterprise software specifically with a background in networking and security\. • Experience working within a matrixed technology business, with proven expertise in engaging with a broad and diverse internal stakeholder base • Proven track record managing overlay specialist sales teams at a regional level • Solid software sales experience as an individual contributor and sales manager • Proven track record of quota over\-achievement in a highly competitive environment • Proven ability to build relationships and effectively sell to senior executives and CIOs • Experience leading and driving a team of professionals in sales campaigns that include sales executives, field SE’s, inside sales, field marketing, professional services, etc • Strong presentation skills to executive audiences • Strong customer\-facing and relationship building skills • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and manage multiple large opportunities Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, together with a natural flair for presenting to diverse audiences
