Job Description
This role will develop pricing approaches and lead related initiatives to help shape and influence market response and ensure a dynamic and efficient market for disability supports and services. In doing so, this role will help to fulfil the aspirations of NDIS participants to enjoy a choice of quality provider services.

You will lead research into markets and provider commercial models and behaviour. You will use this evidence, and your analytical skills, to advise the NDIA Executive and Board on how to ensure efficient service delivery for the NDIS, and how to address key risks such as service gaps. You will lead Agency initiatives to anticipate and monitor the impact of pricing and purchasing arrangements. Ideally, you will have evidenced experience in operationalising pricing policies to drive improved market outcomes, preferably in service delivery for people with a disability or human services.

Duties:


• Lead market reviews and other initiatives for the NDIA that will deliver the priorities of the NDIS:
- Establish and use review processes that will deliver sound, evidence-based decisions, including the effective use of market data and meaningful market engagement strategies
- Identify steps towards a long-term competitive and vibrant market, whilst ensuring immediate risks are managed
- Consider the role of pricing and purchasing initiatives in the context of a broader suite of measures that the NDIA can use to improve market outcomes
- Identify risks associated with pricing and purchasing initiatives, and options to manage and mitigate these risks
• Design and implement pricing arrangements in circumstances where they will deliver the best outcomes for the NDIS:
- Develop pricing methodologies that take into account estimates of efficient costs and also reflect policy considerations
- Balance pricing proposals with non-price initiatives, particularly to address risks
- Build timely, insightful reporting mechanisms on the impact of pricing proposals (to inform decision-making) and decisions (to facilitate post-decision market monitoring)
- Establish processes for end to end provider supports
• Source, interpret and communicate data and analysis to support decision making
• Work collaboratively with divisional staff to develop pricing and market recommendations that support decision making.
• Be able to work under pressure, including having the ability to provide advice across a variety of complex issues within tight deadlines
• Have an understanding of the complex issues that affect people with disability
• Ensure synergies across divisional projects through the use of standardised tools, processes and practices
• Build strong partnerships with a range of service providers, new market entrants and other external stakeholders
