Job Description
The role of Director Futures Learning has been created to lead innovation in teaching and learning through the use of technology, and the provision of innovative, flexible and future focused teaching and learning spaces, informed by progressive professional practice. The role will provide state-wide leadership and strategic advice on new and innovative design responses, driving the implementation of initiatives and reforms that are forward focused and responsive to educational, social and technology developments.
Reporting to the Executive Director, Learning and Teaching and leading a small team of professionals, the Director will need to build collaborative and consultative relationships both internally and externally, including developing key strategic partnerships with universities, businesses, government and non-government agencies to encourage innovation in the delivery of teaching and learning. The Director will also advise on emerging national and international trends in learning design, learning spaces and professional practice for school education, and contribute to the development of interactive technologies and tools to enhance professional practice in NSW public schools.
Candidates will need to be fluid and nimble in their thinking, with a record of drawing on a diverse range of experts to deliver progressive educational outcomes. While candidates do not need to have a background in teaching, an informed and contemporary understanding of the future of learning and education will be essential. Candidates will need to be resilient, have the ability to balance creativity and delivery and be capable of managing competing priorities.
