Director - Risk - Bupa Australia & New Zealand - Melbourne

Job description

This is an opportunity for a Risk Director to take a key role in the finance team leading the business facing 2nd line of defence function for Bupa in Australia and New Zealand. This encompasses all of the business units in ANZ, including Health Insurance, Care Services Australia, Health Services and Care Services New Zealand across 16,000 employees.
Reporting to the Director Finance & Commercial and functionally to the Global Chief Risk Officer, this senior leadership role will be responsible for:-
Delivering commercially efficient, effective and consistent services by providing a ‘second line of defence’ for Bupa ANZ
Providing enterprise wide oversight and strategy for Risk Management across Bupa ANZ
Managing the processes and actively participate in the Enterprise Risk Committee for Bupa ANZ
Encouraging and leading innovation, and constantly seeking opportunities to improve performance, and deliver best practice.


Desired Skills and Experience
You will be a leader in your field, and be inspired and driven by the opportunity to lead risk management at Bupa ANZ.

You will be/have:-
Proven experience in a senior level role with strong technical risk skills in an APRA environment (Desirable).
Demonstrated ability to act in a leadership role at senior management level, with the ability to operate at the Board level.
Demonstrated strong commercial acumen.
As a senior leader be capable of providing clear direction to the team, set high standards, motivate and empower the team to deliver in a results orientated environment
Understanding of Solvency 2 strongly desirable.
Solid contributor who is results orientated and driven to deliver the best results for the business.
