Director - B2B Client Management - American Express - Sydney


Job description
As Director B2B Client Management, you will:
Manage all aspects for the B2B CLM Cost Centre & participate as a member of the ANZ CLM Leadership Team
Be relied up to provide inspirational leadership by demonstrating personal excellence by delivering outstanding results against sales targets.
Act as a key contact between the B2B function and the American Express card issuer groups (such as Proprietary Card Services, Global Corporate Payments & Global Network Partnerships) so that all merchant activities complement the needs of our spend centric expansion plans

Have a solid understanding of business finance and a proven ability to carry conversations at the ‘C’ level is also crucial.


Core responsibilities will be to:

Develop & evolve the strategy for the B2B team in consultation with your leader
Develop and drive senior level external engagement with merchants
Directly managing a large and diverse team
Provide the drive, energy and enthusiasm required to inspire a highly experienced sales team
Provide thought leadership in developing winning strategies to expand business and market share
Embed financial fluency within the team & be considered a subject matter expert on business financing
Manage all contractual and budgetary matters related to the B2B CLM channel
Ensure that all investments are managed and controlled correctly and to plan
Effectively manage a merchant pipeline and drive performance
Innovation to successfully drive expansion in existing industry focus areas

Desired Skills and Experience
To be successful in the role you will be/have:

Experience in coaching and developing large sales team members to maximize performance while proactively managing performance issues
Proven ability to drive change across an organisation
An Experienced Sales Leader with a track record of developing highly motivated and engaged teams that deliver strong results
Proven ability to change the status quo and drive innovation with resilience and a collaborative style
Strong financial and commercial acumen, highly numerate and analytical
Strategic thinker with a growth mindset and the ability to develop new business models, identify new segments and opportunities to leverage the B2B model and drive significant growth
Experienced in developing and executing a sales strategy in line with business objectives and driving team performance to meet or exceed sales targets
Proven track record of consistent sales success and the ability to create a high performing team environment that motivates individuals to exceed sales goals
Autonomy in problem-solving & use of financial analytics to drive sound business decisions
Excellent stakeholder management skills (internal and external Partners) and the ability to influence both laterally and upwards across business units and externally Strong written & verbal communication skills
B2B sales experience (preferred)
