Posted Position Title: Construction Projects Leader

Role Summary/Purpose:
The Construction Projects Leader provides leadership in the planning, development, and execution of projects to satisfy GE facility requirements. Develop and grow business for Project Services and support business growth by working with other property operations divisions

Essential Responsibilities:

- Champion of safety in planning projects, supplier selection, (includes designers and contractors), and execution of our projects.

- Serve as GRES Project Service key interface to the GE business and identify and work with project stakeholders.

- Lead effort to identify the business requirements of projects and lead the business in the technical planning of projects.

- Develop project parameters based on technical and business requirements along with the outline requirements of the projects and document them in an executable and measurable format, an Outline Guide for Design and Construction (OGDC).

- Identify project objectives and develop project plans and execution strategies that will best achieve project objectives. Review strategy with GE business stakeholders for concurrence and acceptance.

- Lead effort required to develop and implement a risk review strategy to manage GE risk in the areas of EHS, cost, schedule, quality, and construction claims throughout the project process.

- Utilize global partners who are a part of our virtual project network in the planning, development, and (as required) execution of our projects.

- Develop the initial proposal to the GE business which will outline Project Service understanding of the project, our approach to the project, our understanding of project milestones and associated schedule, and our estimated cost for Project Services to lead the project. The cost for developing the proposal and any fact-finding

- Manage GRES team members, providing leadership, guidance and direction to fulfill goals
PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

- Key project objectives delivered on time and within budget on a consistent basis

- Adherence to corporate and Australian EH&S standards and security standards

- Cost improvements gained against existing supplier agreements

- Process improvements gained by the completion of a project

- Direct contribution to the continuous improvement of products and services sourced for the company

- The consistency and rigour with which the full facilities methodology is applied.

- The quality of verbal and written interactions with team members, suppliers, business units, users and stakeholders.

Qualifications/Requirements:
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Science or related technical field with 5+ years’ experience managing commercial or light industrial building construction projects (minimum single project value USD2MM) working directly for an owner or as an owner's representative.

Experience

- Project management experience including identifying projects, developing project plans and execution strategies (must have experience as project leaders/developers, not only as superintendents/field engineers).

- Experience leading efforts to develop the project parameters based on technical
and business requirements, along with the outline requirements of the project and
then document them in an OGDC.

- Experience identifying project objectives and developing a project plans and execution strategies.

- Minimum of 4 years’ experience leading a team; successful management experience of direct reports.

- Experience with Environmental, Health and Safety matters.

Technical Knowledge

- Knowledge of commercial real estate investment valuation methodologies

- Knowledge of budget preparation.

- An understanding of scorecards and vendor management SLAs.

Skills

- Proficient in MS Office, including Excel and Word and PowerPoint

- Strong written and oral communications skills

- Strong analytical and quantitative skills

- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills

- Strong relationship management skills
