Assurance & Advisory Quality and Risk (AAQR)

Responsibilities
The AAQR team is responsible for a wide range of activities and projects, including:
Focussing on continually improving Audit Quality

Assisting the firm in protecting its brand and reputation
Providing timely, practical and technically sound advice and assistance to audit and assurance teams
Coaching, supports and works with audit teams to achieve professional excellence and streamline the audit process
Responsible for overseeing and managing the external and internal audit inspection process
Involved in consultations and approvals relating to a broad range of quality and risk areas
Delivering audit and assurance technical training to partners and practitioners
Responsibility for the underlying audit content incorporated within the Deloitte specific audit software (EMS)
Consulting with teams and across service lines with respect to higher risk situations and engagements to determine an appropriate solution
Communicating new and upcoming audit and assurance related information to the practice
Providing guidance and developing awareness relating to the practical application of new or revised audit and assurance related standards and legislation
Developing tools, templates and resources to assist audit and assurance practitioners in performing their engagements
Providing input into the proposed changes to the Deloitte Global Audit Methodology
Providing input into the proposed changes in standards, both locally and internationally

About the role

There Is An Opportunity For You To Join The AAQR Team In a Diversified And Rewarding Role That Includes The Following
Responding to consultations from the audit and assurance team members regarding specific engagement issues/queries
Preparation/review of technical alerts for communication of new or revised audit and assurance related requirements
Assistance in preparing/reviewing learning materials for the practice via different modes of delivery
Coaching and supporting teams in their execution of audit/assurance engagements
Researching and providing advice around audit and assurance related topics
Involvement in discussions within the AAQR team around focus areas, new standards and/or practical application of audit and assurance related requirements
Facilitating or leading training via face-to-face, e-learning and webinar based forums
What we’re looking for
Professionally Qualified or Certified Auditor (e.g. CPA / CA / ACCA)
At least eight years’ experience leading and delivering audit/assurance services, preferably across a range of different industries/engagement types
Strong working knowledge of auditing related standards and good working knowledge of accounting standards
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and complete tasks/projects in a timely manner and to a high standard
Ability to take responsibility, show initiative and put forward innovative ideas
Some experience in a role within audit quality, risk management and/or learning is beneficial but not mandatory
