Enterprise Growth is a division of American Express and is dedicated to pursuing new forms of payments and digital commerce that open American Express to new customer segments, new geographies across the world, and new products and services. Specifically, this includes growing a digital services platform for American Express, expanding alternative mobile and online payment services, forming new partnerships and building new revenue streams beyond the traditional Card and travel businesses.

Compliance plays a critical role in protecting the company, its brand and its employees through practical, solution-focused guidance on regulatory and ethics-related matters. Enterprise Growth Compliance is now seeking a Compliance Director to lead the Enterprise Growth Compliance program in the JAPA region.


The role will be based in our Sydney office. Reporting into the Enterprise Growth Compliance Director in London, this role will specifically involve the ongoing development, growth, and maintenance of an effective compliance programme in the JAPA region. You will be able to oversee business implementation of effective policies, procedures and technology related solutions that will maintain and enhance program compliance in line with compliance policies.

You will be expected to provide product management support when new products and services are considered in the region, partner with the enterprise AML group, Market Compliance Officers, Legal Entity Compliance Officers, and other key stakeholders across the enterprise to apply consistency as required.


In addition, there will be a need to respond to regulatory exam requests, drive compliance monitoring and testing, draft local and regional compliance policies, and implement global enterprise compliance initiatives.
