Responsibilities:

Dolby Australia continues to grow into 2014 with the opening of several key engineering positions; for this position, we invite applications from outstanding candidates for the role of Sr. Software Test Engineer within the E-media Technology Engineering Team. In E-Media we are focused on applications and software that end up in portable devices used by millions of consumers around the world every day.

The role contains test planning, design and execution of digital entertainment technologies, and requires individuals with a high level of motivation, attention to detail and initiative – your focus will need to be on software quality and testing.

Working side-by-side with some of the top engineers in Australia you will examine, validate, and test the Dolby video/audio/voice products, including creation of test plans, design & implementation, execution, analyzing results/coverage and creation of test metrics.

Qualifications:

Successful applicants MUST have:

3+ years software testing;
1+ year test plan creation;
1+ years test design analytical skills (e.g. BVA, Equivalence partitioning etc.);
1+ year experience in using automated test harnesses;
2+ years experience with Windows and Linux;
1+ year experience with scripting languages such as Python, VBasic, Bash or Perl;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
The ability to use ears and eyes as test tools.

Desired attributes include:

Degree or equivalent experience;
ISTQB/ISEB test certification;
performed as a QA project lead on simpler projects;
Experience with programming in C/C++;
2+ years experience with Python scripting language;
Understanding of multimedia technology, compression, audio & video codecs.
