Senior Project Manager - NEC - Perth

Job description
We currently have a new requirement for a Senior Project Manager to join our Project Services team.

The Project Manager role will be primarily responsible for managing the full project life cycle of a variety of application implementation and infrastructure projects, ensuring the highest quality delivery experience and outcome for our Australian customers. NEC projects are run using the PRINCE2 project management methodology. The technologies utilised in project implementation by NEC include:

The Microsoft Dynamics Suite
Microsoft SharePoint
Business Intelligence (Microsoft SSRS, SAP Business Objects & IBM Cognos)
Apple iOS & .NET custom development
Infrastructure

Key Responsibilities:
Manage multiple projects of various sizes, across various clients and environments
Ensure that all allocated projects comply with the standard NEC project methodology
Understand and clearly identify all customer internal and external stakeholder relationships relating to assigned projects
Identify and manage both internal and external customer expectations
Identify, agree and manage project scope, objectives and deliverables
Provide and maintain consistent clear communication of project progress. Implement and maintain clear communication and reporting mechanisms across customers and project team.
Identify and manage the resolution of all project issues, including; effective escalation and communication as required.
Identify report and manage all project risks. Develop, communicate and agree appropriate mitigation strategies.
Produce and maintain accurate up to date project plans at the appropriate levels, covering project schedules, deliverables, P&L, and resourcing
Track and report project performance, including: profitability, quality, deliverables and schedule
Conduct formal risk assessments as part of the project assurance process and effectively manage project risks throughout the project life cycle.

Senior Project Managers at NEC are expected to continually demonstrate leadership and contribute to a professional and successful working environment. A proactive approach to ongoing business development is essential. Team leadership responsibility at a state level may also be a requirement of the role.
Key skills and experience required:
A good level of technical experience within the Microsoft suite of products
Experience of the full project life cycle managing software development/delivery
Proven track record of delivering IT projects within a structured project methodology.
Proven track record in successful project delivery of multi projects across multiple customer accounts
Proven track record of providing hands on management within a project environment
Proven track record of managing projects within a matrix resource management environment
Ability to manage multiple projects
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Time Management skills
Proven track record of formulising a customer’s requirements, identifying the required levels of documentation and producing complex project and technical outputs
Ability to understand technical issues and prioritise the resources available to resolve as well as clearly articulate solutions to clients in a non-technical way
Ability to work in a team environment to deliver on projects
Broad experience of business sectors
PRINCE2 or PMP certification would be highly regarded
