Senior Public Relations Specialist - Edelman - Sydney


Job description
We’re looking for an experienced, driven and entrepreneurial individual to join our expanding corporate team as a Public Relations Account Director. You will need a minimum of 6-8 years’ experience working in corporate communications, preferably in an agency environment.

The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in working within the technology (consumer and enterprise) sector; an understanding of the digital media and marketing environment, be responsible for the leadership and overall direction of a client accounts; have a bank of local media contacts; as well as the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

You will join an agile and energetic environment that provides a range of services including public relations; digital and social media; research and creative.

About the role:
You’ll be the primary senior contact for our clients, ensuring the team delivers high quality work that exceeds expectations.
Create research-driven communication programs that are designed to build and protect the corporate brand and reputation for key Edelman clients.
You will work with senior business leaders to identify and manage reputational issues.
Develop and lead stakeholder identification and engagement programs.
Take an insights-led approach towards developing communication strategies. Confident at presenting ideas and writing compelling material.
You will have line management responsibilities and manage a small team of consultants.
Keep across the trends that affect the industry and adapt client communication programs to respond to the changing landscape.
Engage with senior clients, business leaders, stakeholders with the requisite professionalism and sound judgement.
Play a central role in new business development for the agency.

Desired Skills and Experience
You should have impeccable verbal and written communication skills, and have the confidence to present strategic plans and write compelling, well researched material based on strategic insights.
You will have proven ability to manage reputational issues for leading businesses or brands.
Have an understanding of the financial constructs of agency environment including budgeting, utilisation and forecasting.
Play a key role in the success of our business and work closely with leadership team on new business and agency growth.
Have experience working across multiple accounts/projects and have an ability to deliver work in a fast-paced environment.
You should be curious and keen learn new skills, stay up to date with emerging technologies and trends.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office applications, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
