Invacare Australia is seeking a highly experienced Commercial Director to join the company and provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to the overall Australian Business.
The right candidate will have proven experience in creating, structuring and leading a sales/customer service and marketing team to ensure that the annual growth strategy is achieved.

This role requires a highly motivated professional with extensive senior leadership and change management experience, focused on innovation and process improvement and a dedication to customer service excellence. Strong people management experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to multi task effectively in a fast paced environment is a must.

Based in Sydney, the Commercial Director Australia, will have commercial P&L responsibility for the Sales, Marketing and Customer service aspects of the business in Australia. The role is accountable for delivering Invacare Australia annual strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan and ensuring it is in association with the Regional and Global Strategic Plans.

This role reports to the Managing Director, Australia & New Zealand and is an integral part of the ANZ Leadership Team as such there is a requirement for regular travel. The role has 7 direct reports managing a team of 18 employees overall.
Desired Skills and Experience
Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required:
Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Business or related field
7+ years sales and/or marketing experience at a senior level and at least 5 years of marketing management experience in the medical devices industry
Demonstrated senior management level experience providing high quality business support and leadership within sales and/or marketing
Relevant industry knowledge in Mobility & Seating (Rehab), Long Term Care and/or Homecare in the public and private sector
Product knowledge in the Mobility & Seating, Long Term Care and or Homecare industry
Extensive experience in developing and implementing strategic sales and marketing plans including modifying plans to meet targets
Proven track record in developing and managing high-performing teams, striving for going the ‘extra mile’ and focused on achieving KPIs
Previous experience in managing in a quality environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and coach across the business and work as a key part of a senior management team
Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, including proficiency in conflict resolution and coaching/counselling
A willingness and ability to perform both operationally and strategically as required
Business initiative and imagination; the ability to challenge the ‘status quo’ and provide fresh, innovative and workable solutions, yet able to accept being challenged in turn
Enthusiastic with abundant energy and drive; proactive with a strong desire to succeed
