Purpose of the Job
The EHS & CSR Director provides expertise in the management of business risk by engaging personnel at all levels in fostering a high performance EHS & CSR culture. The role will be integral in improving the Australian Transport business's EHS performance by implementing and maintaining EHS initiatives, codes of practice, policies and risk management strategies. The Job includes the following disciplines Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), Environmental Management (EM), Rail Safety (RS) and includes the relevant processes that form part of Alstom Transport Australia Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) certificate.

In compliance with Alstom guidelines and targets, drive the implementation of EHS policy in the field
Responsibility, Accountability and Authority
Responsibilities
Key result areas (general tasks and responsibilities) measured as follows:
Review reporting process to ensure reports are accurate and provide full information to allow the board and senior management to be able to monitor and make informed decisions based on current performance and trends;
Develop a process to review (audit) and monitor compliance by business segment to Alstom corporate and country legislation. Measure audits completed;
Ensure all relevant compliance issues are addressed. Measure 100% compliance;
Establish benchmarking of WHS, EM and RS management to ensure that we compare favourably against other organisations, enabling continual improvement and potential sales differentiation. Measure – improvement in WHS, EM and RS statistics;
Reduction in overall workers compensation payment and premiums;
Zero reportable environmental incidents.
In collaboration with Shared Services groups, primarily HR;
Review recruitment, training (including induction) and management practices to ensure WHS, EM, RS and AEO considerations and needs are addressed;
Maintain and drive competency based training process;
Review workers compensation and rehabilitation process.
