Position Summary
To develop customer strategies and executions supporting our client’s objective of achieving main financial institution status via Visa deposit access products. The role has a clear focus on delivering thought leadership on retail banking product and channel acquisition, onboarding, activation and ongoing portfolio optimization to Visa’s clients across the Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands business. The Senior Director, Deposit Access Strategy & Product Management is responsible for all aspects of the Visa Debit portfolio, including product development, channel innovation, consumer experience and engagement, best practice acquisition, activation and revenue optimization.

This role will manage a small team and work cross functionally with Marketing, Portfolio Analytics, Customer Service Solutions and other Product teams.

Responsibilities

Develop thought leadership and innovation in the execution of strategies that drive growth in the issuance and or usage of Visa Deposit Access products that provide a competitive advantage to Visa and drive revenue growth for the business

As a senior member of the Product leadership team, the Senior Director will serve as subject matter expert in deposit access strategy and product development with key stakeholders across functional teams. The recommendations need to be quantifiable and aligned with the corporate and client’s strategic objectives
Design compelling, differentiated and relevant product plans that leverage Visa’s network, technology assets, IP, brand/ marketing programs and commercial assets to provide competitive advantage in Australasia. A prime focus is to drive gross revenue growth for the business against a back drop of market complexity, differing degrees of business opportunities and competitive threats.
Lead assigned A&P initiatives and the associated budgets to ensure that due process is followed and that initiatives are delivered on time and within agreed budget
Develop a broad range of industry best practices, derived both locally and globally that can be used in consultation with Visa client relationship teams and directly with clients to assist Visa win new mandates for Visa debit across the region.
Develop and then lead assigned key projects and activities to deliver superior debit products and services in Australasia
Utilize industry, consumer purchasing behavior, retail banking trend analysis and customer knowledge to seek out new business opportunities for the deposit access product category
Being a deposit access product advocate, lead cross functional groups to ensure that debit considerations, programs and product pilots/developments are top of mind
Lead the formulation of new performance metrics and analytical tools to enhance portfolio benchmarking capabilities across Australasia for debit products

Qualifications

Professional
10 years experience in retail bank/consumer cards marketing businesses coupled with experience in managing deposit access, transactional banking services, debit cards business in a financial institution, especially in a multi-national role
Business degree/MBA

Technical
Sound knowledge of banking and payment card systems and processes
Sound knowledge of marketing principles, product management and retail banking business acumen

Business
Product management experience in payments/ financial services industry
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Negotiation and business development skills
P&L experience and focus on delivering strong financial results for stakeholders
