Electronic Arts’ Firemonkeys Studio in Melbourne, Australia is highly regarded throughout the industry as a leader in delivering high quality, engaging games on iOS and Android. We release new meaningful updates on a regular basis for our live mobile games such as Real Racing 3, The Sims FreePlay, Need for Speed, and many more.

We’re looking for highly talented and dedicated Development Director who will thrive in fast paced, ever changing development and live service environment. As a Development Director within the Firemonkeys Studio you’ll be responsible for bringing a cross functional group of talent individuals together to deliver on a project and operational deliverables.

Key responsibilities

Timely delivery of the product launches and regular updates in a live services game environment.
Maintains regular communication with team and key stakeholders to provide project status updates; encourages others to express their point of view.
Builds and maintains effective working schedules to ensure achievement of project development milestones.

Manages change requests and obtains appropriate approvals; advises key stakeholders on the impact of each change request on project schedule, budget, and resources.
Provides supervision to the development team including training and coaching staff for improved performance, evaluating performance and recognizing achievements.
Growing strong talent and highly effective teams including career management, hiring, and performance management of individuals on the team

Skills and experience

Strong listening and communication skills - able to communicate team and project goals in a clear, concise and strategic manner.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills - able to work on complex problems where analysis of situations requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
Excellent negotiation, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
Minimum 8 years software development experience or other related experience; minimum 5 year project management or team leadership experience.
Able to interpret design documents and project schedules to establish and communicate scope.
Experience with managing Agile Development and using agile software such as Hansoft.
Strong people management skills including the ability to clearly communicate performance expectations and provide regular feedback to improve employee performance; capable of managing performance and professional development of direct reports.
Demonstrated experience managing complex projects, including establishing project plan, determining task dependencies, and assigning tasks to team.
An avid gamer with a passion for creating AAA mobile titles for the industry leader.
Previous experience shipping AAA rated games. – not required, nice to have
Experience with Mobile, Facebook, PC, console and next gen console development teams and development challenges. – not required, nice to have
Experience with managing live service games is a bonus.
Proven management experience directing multiple disciplines
