Director - Brand and Communications - Virgin Mobile Australia - Sydney

We currently have an extremely unique (and extremely awesome) opportunity available in the position of Director, Brand and Communications for Virgin Mobile. This role will initially be engaged for 12 months to cover a maternity leave period, but as it is such a pivotal role for Virgin Mobile, the wider Virgin Brand and for Optus, the longer term opportunities may be endless.


We have a whole bunch of exciting plans and ideas in our pipeline, so we are looking to the Director to help us create and drive a number of these brilliant initiatives forward. Essentially the scope and potential that this role has is huge – a career making opportunity if you will! This role will also provide the opportunity lead a team of highly engaged and experienced professionals who are always looking for new challenges, and work with wonderful leadership teams across Virgin and Optus.



This role really calls for a passionate leader, who will nurture the Virgin brand and is happy to play in the sandpit! As the Director, Brand and Communications you will be required to build and lead the development and implementation of the Virgin Mobile brand strategy across all areas of the business both internally and externally, and ensure alignment of the brand strategy across all marketing activities, organisational and consumer focused touch points and programs.



You will be responsible for developing customer insight driven brand strategy and communications campaigns, hold accountability for a wide remit of marketing communications and establish and embed a clear and differentiated brand position within all areas of the organisation. You will also be responsible for the further strategic reinvention of the Virgin Mobile brand in line with strategic business changes and a core proposition refresh.



This role is part of the Virgin Leadership Team (VLT) and works collaboratively with the other VLT members in order to deliver communication that meets the needs of the strategic business objectives and to effectively and efficiently communicate the brand and product propositions to our customers. You will develop transformational business processes that ensure programs are delivered to market in a cost effective and timely manner for the marketing organisation and to work with commercial, legal and regulatory compliance within industry requirements.

Desired Skills and Experience
While it is not crucial that you have Telco experience, you will have an impressive brand management background, have held a similar senior leadership role and be able to provide us with great examples of your innovative approach to brand and communications strategy and delivery.
