KPMG’s Merger and Acquisitions (M&A) practice is one of the largest and most successful M&A businesses in Australia with enviable list of completed transactions across a broad range of industry sectors. As a lead advisor, our M&A practice advises transactions including acquisitions, divestments, mergers, takeovers and capital raisings.
With a leading reputation in the Brisbane market, our M&A practice is growing and we are now seeking an experienced M&A professional to join us and build on our success.
Your new role
Research key transaction opportunities and contribute to business development activities to secure new clients
Prepare and lead the preparation of detailed proposals and assist in formulating and presenting compelling transactions opportunities
Advise clients on the full suite of corporate transactions including divestments, takeovers, mergers/acquisitions and private equity transactions (domestic and international deals),taking into account their specific circumstances and prevailing market conditions
Manage and guide a small group of direct reports to deliver client engagements as well as facilitating their career progression and development
Lead the preparation of key transaction documentation including financial models, information memorandums, company presentations and the like
Be an integral member of a close know team with the potential to develop your skills and behaviours into a senior leadership role over time
Provide assistance in preparation of valuation materials and financial models
You will bring
The following attributes will be essential to your successful appointment to the role:
A relevant tertiary qualification in Commerce, Business, Law or related field
Relevant post graduate qualification either completed or nearing completion including CA, CFA or MBA
A successful track record in an M&A Advisory role in either a Professional Services, Private Equity or Investment Banking firm
Confident and articulate communication skills with a track record in business development and opportunity sourcing
Strong project management skills and the ability to deliver exceptional client service despite competing demands and strict deadlines
Strong technical skills, such as the ability to build and interpret complex financial models
An appetite, enthusiasm and passion for M&A , underpinned with a strong work ethic and an enquiring mind
Ongoing learning and career development opportunities, including global secondments
The ability to collaborate and link across borders and globally with sector and technical experts in all parts of our business.
