Senior Manager, Communications, Australia & NZ (8 months fixed term contract)
We are looking for a dynamic and talented professional for a maternity leave cover to manage and oversee the implementation of the content and communications strategy for Expedia in Australia & NZ. This position sits within the Brand Marketing team and reports to the Marketing Director. Key responsibilities, include:

• Oversee the PR, social and blog program, ensuring successful delivery of the outlined strategy.
• Report on program performance and adjust the plan to accommodate business needs.
• Mentor and guide one direct report, our Expedia Editor who is responsible for the blog program and community management.
• Own the brand team relationship with Facebook and work collaboratively with this partner to continuously optimize our social media investment and build the Expedia community.
• Manage the social media advertising program
• Be the local media spokesperson and guide senior management when they represent the organisation.
• Continue to build direct relationships with key media to influence the news agenda in our favour.
• Manage Expedia's reputation and lead crisis management communications.
• Drive collaboration and champion our local needs with global PR and Social Media counterparts, including contributing to global projects.
• Mange the day-to-day relationship with our PR agencies in AU & NZ.
• Manage the ANZ Communications budget (PR, blog, social investment).

Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will be:
• Passionate about storytelling, presenting the right content, at the right time, to the right people through the right channels.
• A popular and exceptional team leader with proven success collaborating and guiding management level team members & agency partners.
• Highly analytical with proven test & learn experience.
• Ideally have worked at a senior level in a PR agency managing tech, ecommerce or travel clients.
• Have created and managed social content strategies, understands online best practices and blogs in their spare time.
• Demonstrated an ability to opportunistically react to the news cycle to drive traffic.
• Have had experience managing the reputation of a brand through a crisis and practice coaching media facing senior execs.
• Ideally have relationships with influential travel and consumer journalists.
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Communications / Marketing / Social.
• Minimum of 8 year's relevant communications experience, with 3 at a senior level client or agency side.
