Associate Director - Media - Nielsen - Sydney


Job description
An Associate Director within the Media Industry Group is focused on identifying and resolving client business issues through the provision of market research and data solutions, products and services. The incumbent is responsible for a number of strong, renewable revenue streams as well as the realisation of new business and organic growth opportunities. An effective relationship-builder, this commercially focused role will constantly seek out stronger relationships with clients, identify key business issues and match it to the relevant Nielsen capability to solve them. The incumbent is often called upon by clients as a thought partner, and therefore a working knowledge of key media consumption and advertising trends is key. The role has a strong commercial focus.

Responsibilities:
Exceed quarterly sales targets through new business, client retention and growth
Develop a sales strategy & plan to facilitate:
Proactively generating new business leads through multiple channels
Developing opportunities, and closing deals
Maintaining a consistent pipeline of, qualified, new and advanced opportunities across all products and services
Facilitate, drive and support sales initiatives across the Industry Group
Own and be accountable for the business relationship between Nielsen and a group of nominated clients.
Effective expectation management
Deliver on time
Manage, negotiate and execute contracts with clients
Deploy relevant and appropriate client training schedules – deliver training sessions as needed
Formulate and execute account plans for designated clients
Develop a solid working understanding of all relevant Nielsen products and solutions.
Effective time management including demonstrated ability to prioritise workload.
Plan and deliver to both renewable and new business revenue targets.
Targets are based on ‘per quarter’ performance.

Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor degree qualified and/or substantive relevant business experience
A working understanding of the Australian online media and/or advertising landscape, and how data and analytics can help companies achieve their goals
Strong negotiation skills and the ability to close a sale
Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
Confident presenter
High level accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to understand, interrogate and translate complex business issues
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint
