Senior Internal Auditor - Oakton - Canberra


Job description

Oakton is seeking to recruit additional Senior Auditors/Audit Managers to their Assurance and Risk Management team in the Canberra office.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for people who like variety in their work, who can pick up things quickly, supervise junior staff and are able to juggle multiple assignments in parallel.

Some key operational responsibilities would include:

Undertake Risk Management, Internal Audit and/or Consulting Assignments in accordance with methods;
Deliver assurance and consulting services in an efficient manner, providing excellent value for money and appropriate solutions to our clients;
Provide appropriate advice in relation to Governance, Risk Management and Control issues; and
Assist with maintaining and updating audit policies, methods and techniques that will deliver effective and efficient solutions for Oakton clients.

Desired Skills and Experience

Proven ability to deliver Risk Management, Internal Audit and Consulting Assignments.
Ability to interpret Audit Programs and develop appropriate scope documents.
Ability to identify, analyse, evaluate and record sufficient information to achieve the engagement’s objectives.
Ability to develop practical solutions and recommendations.
Apply a “no surprises” approach to reporting of issues and work with management to gain agreement on actions and timelines before the final report is issued.
Demonstrated ability to produce reports that clearly articulate the findings of the review
Proven communication and relationship management skills.
Sound understanding of audit frameworks and industry standards.
Professional memberships or certifications such as IIA, CIA, RIMA.
