Partnership Marketing Lead - MasterCard - Sydney


Job description
Overview: To build and maintain strategic business relationships with key partners, including retail merchants, organisations and sponsorship partners, in order to develop mutually profitable marketing strategies & activities.

Details: Marketing Department Objectives

Support Divisional business plans with marketing strategies to:
•Build brand preference and drive usage of all MasterCard products.
•Provide specialist and skilled resources for our Issuers to achieve optimum mutual portfolio profitability.
•Develop, grow and manage strategic partnerships to build our brand preference and drive usage.

Key Objective of the Leader, Merchant & Partner Marketing role:

•To build, maintain and nurture business relationships with strategic business partners – primarily, merchants - in order to develop mutually profitable outcomes to grow the MasterCard acceptance footprint, optimize our share of wallet within merchant retail environments and to drive incremental business for merchant partners.

Key Responsibilities of the Leader, Merchant & Partner Marketing role:

•Contribute to the annual planning process by developing the partner marketing strategies required to support the objectives of the wider Marketing team and the Market Development team in the Australian and New Zealand markets.
•Recommend and manage partner marketing budgets.
•Own merchant relationships on behalf of MasterCard marketing.
•Execute approved plans through to market delivery.
•Design measurement structures for each plan – in consultation with Marketing team peers.
•Manage and develop 2 direct reports (contractor roles).
•Coordinate multiple agency relationships – including offer sourcing, direct marketing & digital services.

Specifically:

1.Oversee execution of partner marketing strategies including:
•Responsible for developing & delivering briefs to relevant agencies.
•Managing same agency relationships through to delivery. Where relevant, Leader will work with team colleague who holds ownership of agency relationship eg. McCann relationship owned by Consumer Marketing.

2.Campaign Measurement, Tracking and Performance Reports
•Responsible for setting up performance measures for all initiatives
•Responsible for regular reporting and analysis of results to plan
•Responsible for preparing post analysis reports for each campaign

3.Track Product Budgets to Plan
•Manage the appropriate budget lines for merchant marketing activities
•Manage the budgets for individual campaigns and programs
•Prepare and update forecasts on a monthly basis

4.Support Acceptance Development Team with Sell-in to Merchants.
•Prepare and present marketing plan presentations to support Market Development (specifically, Acceptance Development) team and their contacts at merchants.
•Where appropriate, maximise the participation of merchants in our brand campaigns by leveraging their direct-to-cardholder channels.

5.Manage Cardholder Benefit Programs – specifically, Priceless Sydney, Priceless Cities and Privileges programs.
•Responsible for overall management of programs including:
oProgram strategy
oOffer content selection
oOwnership of Merchant relationships
oProgram measurement and reporting
oEvent management
oManagement of sourcing and delivery agencies

6.Other relevant duties as specified by the Head of Marketing when required.

Requirements:

•Proven Merchant partner program management
•Experience managing Merchant relationships
•Digital platform delivery experience
•Strategic capabilities – evidence of strategic input into past successes
•Contract overview & management
•Strong written & oral communication skills
•Solid track record in Project Management
•Ability to demonstrate superior team leadership skills

Desired Attributes:

•Formal qualifications in business strategy and/or project management
