Position Title: Enterprise & Partner Group (EPG) Public Sector Controller

The Australia Public Sector EPG business consists of Microsoft's largest government, health & education customers and partners in Australia. This is a challenging opportunity for an experienced finance professional. We are seeking a high-energy person, who can work autonomously and effectively in driving key finance processes and projects for the segment. In addition, this person should be able to undertake and complete complex financial analysis projects and also be an advocate for controls and compliance within the segment. This is a key, high profile finance position within the Australia subsidiary.
Job's Purpose:
The primary purpose of this position is to be the trusted financial advisor and controller for the Public Sector Director and his/her team of direct reports, with great focus on delivering business insight and efficiently driving business excellence across the key finance processes of planning, forecasting, P&L management and controls & compliance.
Core Job Responsibilities:
The EPG Public Sector Controller will support the Public Sector Director. Responsibilities include:
Be proactive providing business insights to both the PS Director with great focus on business growth and driving efficiencies.
Lead Control & Compliance education, awareness and enforcement across the EPG PS segment, focusing on sales deal execution and Microsoft policies.
Participate in the subsidiary forecasting process by leading the process for the EPG PS segment, driving process improvements that focus more time for business interactions and dialogues between Segment Directors (PS & SMS&P), Sales Leads, account managers and business groups; providing independent views of risk or upside supported by assumptions, trend analysis, sensitivity analysis. Drive forecast accuracy.
Participate in the subsidiary planning process by leading the process for the EPG PS, supporting the PS Director, driving long term profitable growth by defining realistic growth assumptions and investments that are compatible with his/her P&L. Manage the planning process for their customers, guaranteeing excellence in planning execution and credible accuracy.
Participate in the PS Monthly Review process (ROB) working with the PS Director providing gap analysis of key monthly variances versus Forecast and Plan, leading the discussion on revenue and key P&L items. Continually review the PS business and dive deep on scorecards and analysis to drive better management decision making and improve understanding of issues.
Provide the finance perspective for any significant price concession (or any other kind of concession) discussions with Business Desk and Sales.
P&L responsibility for the EPG PS P&L during the closing process (in coordination with the financial controller team).
Main Finance point of contact for EPG Public Sector Customers, Partners and Large Account Resellers (LARs).

Requirements and Qualifications:
Bachelors' degree (Business Administration, Economics, and related academic background) with a minimum of 6 years of demonstrated experience in financial analysis or equivalent.
CPA/CA Beneficial
Demonstrated experience in business analysis, IT industry, Global Software industry, sales & support organizations and/or associated disciplines, however evidence of commercial acumen is paramount.
Some experience managing teams preferred.
Experience in working in multiple organizations with emphasis on communicating (oral and written) and decision making with demonstrated ability to work under pressure. Must be motivated by interdependency.
Strong management skills and a demonstrated ability to drive the effective implementation of procedures and policies to support operational business requirements across regional and organizational boundaries.
Team Player must have ability to manage cross group and cross country boundaries.
Ability to work with all levels in the organization
