Sales Director - Software - Dell - Melbourne

Job description
Dell Software is looking for an accomplished executive who can provide strong sales and sales management leadership, as well as broader business management experience, thereby making a prominent contribution to the Dell Software ANZ Leadership Team and business operations. The primary objective and performance based remuneration will be based on achievement of assigned sales targets in the Southern Region.

The role will be based in the Dell and Dell Software Melbourne office, and includes geographic responsibility for Victoria, Federal Government (Canberra), South Australia and Western Australia, and therefore domestic travel will be required. The role will also include collaboration with other sales leaders and representatives in Dell’s Commercial Sales team, as well as segment sales leaders.

Responsibilities
direct management of a team of (currently) 6 enterprise and territory reps, as well as 9 inside sales reps through a leadership structure.

Leadership areas include; sales of software and related professional services, input into marketing, solution consulting (indirectly), channel development, sales operations, business planning, development of team members, collaboration with other Dell and DSG sales teams, partner relationships;

Qualifications

8-10+ years’ demonstrable success as an IT software Sales Manager and Director; either with a specialist software company, or a portfolio business, or both;
5+ years’ sales or sales management experience with Systems Management, Information Management and/or Security solutions, familiarity with demand drivers, customer buying roles and processes, as well as the sales processes that complement them;
intimate knowledge of the largest IT buying organisations – our customers in Melbourne and Fed Govt markets, including, ideally, personal relationships that can contribute to the development of the Dell Software business.
University degree or equivalent, MBA or other relevant post-grad qualifications desirable;
