DIMENSION & SCOPE:

The purpose of the Regional Network Engineering Solutions Director role is to lead the team delivering Network Transformation Solutions via a set of services that analyze the customer’s network, identify the network solutions (Ciena and/or third party), and plan the integration/conversion requirements to meet the customer’s needs.
He or She will be responsible for the establishment of the proper resource plans to deliver on high-end engineering solutions in a very dynamic market. Margins, customer satisfaction, quarterly revenue commitments will be at the core of the leadership function.
The candidate will understand the market dynamics and trends, develop and drive his team to maintain a clear market differentiation as a network specialist.
The candidate will provide the proper environment allowing his team to perform flawlessly on mission critical activities in the heart of customer’s networks.
Understands the consultancy market on all aspect of the Telecommunication Network design from Layer 0 to Layer 3.
Creates an environment for multi-disciplinary technical innovations and solutions for the most complex or risky business situations.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leads a team of up to 10 to 30 engineers and first level managers with the following functions:
Implements complex upgrades of Ciena Equipment on Customer’s In-Service networks without impacting the services provided to the end user. This includes, but is not limited to, Channel Adds, Node Insertions, Traffic Migrations, and HW/SW Upgrades.
Development and presentation of complex network modernization end to end solutions.
Ownership of pre sales (quote and presentations where required) and post sales process to make sure modernization delivered as planned insuring top Customer Satisfaction.
Performs network audits and architecture design to enable the introduction of complete end to end network modernization.
Validates and test specific procedural steps in equipment labs.
Provide leadership and technical consultation services to all Ciena field service teams.
Plan, develop and execute on Customer modernization plans for evolving customer networks via the EMOP process. Create and own Engineering Method of Procedures (EMOP), supports field execution remotely of these modernization projects.
Ensure proposed solutions are technically viable, meet customer requirements and provide maximum benefit to Ciena. Deliver and own Network Engineering documentation for Customers via the Detailed Network Design service offering.
Validates that the actions taken by the Assigned Project Team are executed properly as per the steps detailed in the Engineering Method of Procedure (EMOP). Ensures the Customer’s network is operating in a stable state as designed during Maintenance Window activities.
Own the creation of Complex/Custom EMOPs for both new Deployments and In-Service Upgrades.
Owns the creation and outcomes of audit and optimization service of Telecommunication networks.
Works with Internal Product Development Teams to recommend enhancements and suggestions on ways to improve the Field Deployment process.
Participates in pre-deployment setup conference calls with the Customer.
Validates and provides feedback on new pricing and turn-up procedures for new product lines.
Supports pre-sales custom service estimates. Will act as a Subject Matter Expert to close a Solution Lead proposal.
Establish the plans to deliver the quarterly committed revenue at the targeted margins
Prepares plan to ramp and train engineering capabilities on the different services segments.
Prepare and attends the regional, customer meetings as needed

Required Experience
B.Sc. Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science or a related field of discipline.
English language essential.
MBA or equivalent management experience
10+ years experience with Live network migration and telecommunication consulting
