Director, Advisory Risk, Internal Audit, Brisbane
As a Risk Director, you'll build valued relationships with external clients and internal peers and develop a portfolio of business by focusing on high impact opportunities. You'll lead presentations and proposals for moderately complex projects - or for elements of highly complex projects - and provide subject matter insight to bids and proposals.


Drawing on your skills and experience, you'll create innovative commercial insights for clients, adapt methods and practices to fit operational team and cultural needs, and contribute to thought leadership. In addition, you'll package overall project findings into clear, concise, high-quality work products.

As a respected senior professional, you'll communicate effectively with EY’s engagement partners and managers and work to build, manage and motivate high-performing teams. You'll also help key staff to build sustainable competencies.

About the opportunity

Our Risk team members help clients address compliance, financial, operational, program and strategic risk. Risk professionals assist clients with testing internal controls and developing internal audit plans and provide audit services on a co-sourcing or outsourcing basis and help clients drive value and efficiency in their internal controls utilising the latest technology and leading practices.

You’ll apply your knowledge and experience to shape our services and motivate your team, developing commercial insights and adopting proven practices to different operational and cultural needs. You’ll build valuable relationships with clients and develop strong capabilities through both formal training and working with talented colleagues.

In your role as Director you will have -

Client responsibilities:

Participate in and lead engagements
Manage the financial aspects of client engagements and communicate significant issues, fees, and estimates-to-complete to partners and client
Help partners generate new business opportunities and build client networks and relationships
Actively identify opportunities to better serve clients

People responsibilities:

· Develop people through effectively supervising, coaching, and mentoring all levels of staff

· Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for all levels of staff

· Contribute to people-related initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training Risk professionals

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring the following skills and experience:

10+ year’s previous Risk or Internal Audit experience
Demonstrated proven track record of being successful in winning new business

A commercial mindset with experience in the Government and/or Power & Utilities sector.
A strong self-starter with a high level of initiative.
Previous professional services experience with demonstrated sales experience will be highly regarded
