Director - Commercial - Pandora - Sydney


Job description
Pandora is seeking an exceptional strategic Sales Director to lead, manage and grow our Australian digital team. Reporting to the Managing Director for Australia & New Zealand this exciting role will primarily be responsible for the Sales Management of a team selling national digital advertising to clients across Australia with the sole purpose of maximising revenue from respective agency groups for Pandora Australia.


You will be responsible for:

1. Driving the Commercial Business

Meet and exceed target revenue goals (quarterly) for Australia
Identify and prioritize new business opportunities within the vertical to ensure team’s success and continuously drive revenue growth
Partner with the Ad Operations Director to ensure that our clients receive the highest level of sales and operational support
Develop metrics to measure the growth and performance of the sales team, increase the effectiveness of the team by recognizing opportunities for new approaches


2. People Leadership

Build, train and manage a team of high-performing sales representatives responsible for prospecting and penetrating large media agency's to obtain branded advertising
Create innovative and persuasive sales presentations, incorporating industry research and campaign performance data




3. Digital industry expertise

Develop and nurture key senior level ad agency and company relationships in order to effectively build and maintain territory ad revenue vs. budget
Work with the Music Industry & Sales marketing teams to understand the relevance of new trends, patterns and insights for Pandora’s advertisers, audiences and segments.
Lead integration of these insights into new demand generation constructs, framing and segmenting the market for more effective and targeted product deployment with the sales teams.


4. Financial Reporting and Operations

Manage the full corporate sales cycle - from initial unqualified lead to proposal, its defense, handling competition, handling evaluation and support issues, commercials, price negotiation and closure
Monitor and report on all activities and forecasts and provide relevant management information

Desired Skills and Experience

Requirements:

· 10+ years of digital and traditional advertising sales experience, at least 5 years of sales management experience

· Experience running a high performing National digital sales team to exceed multi-million dollar revenue goals

· Proven Sales Management success in a fast-paced, demanding, constantly changing environment, dealing with ambiguity and demonstrating problem solving leadership with limited oversight

· Experience leading, growing and motivating a team

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

· Ability to win the support of key stakeholders

· Extensive contacts and relationships with leading interactive agencies and clients within the digital media landscape

· Strong ability to demonstrate leadership internally and to the advertising community

· Proven track record of exceeding sales goals

· Deep understanding of the online advertising marketplace, with specific subject matter expertise in mobile advertising

· Extensive knowledge of interactive advertising with regard to positioning and technology

· Must be creative, smart, and passionate, as well as a problem solver and a team player

· Entrepreneurial spirit driven to achieve sales goals

· Ability and willingness to travel when needed
