Job description
BT Private Wealth seeks to provide an enduring financial advantage to our high-net-worth (HNW) clients. Wealth Services is a division of Private Wealth and supports all three distribution channels of Westpac Private Bank, Bank of Melbourne and St George Private Clients.
Started in October 2011, the division seeks to embed the wealth services across our business. The division includes Private Wealth Services (PWS) which distributes direct wealth investment opportunities to self-directed clients of Private Wealth and the Private Wealth Investment Team lead by the Chief Investment Director. The Private Wealth Investment Team is responsible for sourcing and selection of direct wealth investment opportunities across financial markets including listed and wholesale markets.
The PWS team:
A National investment specialist team that covers all asset classes. Each team member works closely with aligned banker pods and their revenue target shadows the aligned relationship director’s direct wealth revenue target for the pod.
The team engages with key internal and external clients include Private Wealth clients, Relationship Directors, Private Bankers, Assistant Private Bankers and State Heads.
The Role:
This role is key to achieving Private Wealth's vision of providing enduring financial advantage to our clients. The key objectives of the role:
Conduct client meetings with a private banker.
Support Private Bankers and their requirements – Private Bankers are required to complete five meetings a week, one of which needs to be a direct wealth meeting requiring a PWS Director role in order to support the banker in providing technical expertise during the sales process.
Conduct a minimum of one portfolio review per banker per month
Introduce and position the thematic approach to investment opportunities – deliver on our strategic promise of insights/expertise/opportunities
Coach bankers on the direct wealth value proposition, thematics and positioning,
Conduct wealth wise education sessions and conduct Q and A discussion following each session
Assist Relationship Directors (RDs) with identifying banker development capability gaps in direct wealth and coach and support bankers to gain an uplift in banker capability
Distribute investment opportunities across multiple asset classes, including currency, equities, alternatives and fixed income, sourced from BT Financial Group, Westpac Institutional Bank financial markets and open architecture external providers to Private Wealth self-directed clients under a compliant no/general advice framework
Lead and facilitate deep conversations with clients to drive wealth engagement, participation and revenue
This role seeks to develop and build strong relationships with clients and the aligned banker pod team, as well as state head and relationship director stakeholders.

Experience & Qualifications
Degree in relevant studies (commerce, economics, or business)
Asset class specialisation – International and Australian listed equities and managed fund experience
Financial market experience in pricing or sales preferred
10 years experience in banking/finance/investment environment with a track record of high achievement
Experience in driving sales and organisational change
Collaborative, relationship and consultative selling style
Technology Capabilities: Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
