Technical BA Manager - Amadeus IT Pacific - Sydney


Job description
Amadeus currently has an exciting opportunity for a senior technical business analyst to join our Rail division based in Sydney. Our Rail division is part of the larger Global New Business Unit. We are developing a new product (software-as-a-service) to allow railways to manage their content (schedules, inventory, fares) and sell it via sales channels (consumer websites, call centres, kiosks, mobiles and online and offline travel agencies). This will allow Amadeus to diversify its product offering beyond our current airline clients.
We are looking for a highly talented, dynamic and innovative senior technical business analyst that can lead a team of analysts, rapidly digest the complexity of our distributed architecture; analyse and develop new functional requirements; deliver high quality solutions within an acceptable cost and time frame; and deliver the right solutions for the rail industry.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
Leading a team of technical business analysts and continuously improving the team's capacity to deliver efficiently and effectively high quality results,
Being responsible for strategic and operational people management,
Developing a deep technical and functional understanding of our products (front and back ends),
Understanding the functional components developed by other departments & utilised by our products,
Eliciting, analysing, defining, document and test complex functional requirements,
Writing functional specifications for developers,
Representing the Product Owner in a Scrum team,
Delivering test plans, test scenarios, automated test scripts and producing test reports,
Securing complex functional requirements by performing regression & non-regression testing,
Supporting our sales team with analysis of requirements during the pre-sales phase,
Working closely with our customers, Product
Managers and marketing to understand the rail customers and their needs,
Continuously improving the quality of our products,
Proposing and promoting innovative ideas,
Fostering and promoting a culture of innovation.

Desired Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will have extensive Technical Business Analyst and people management experience in a software development environment using Scrum with an emphasis on the Product Owner role.
You are able to conceptualise high-level technical projects, analyse and develop a deep technical and functional understanding of complex products, innovate and strongly contribute to the creation of new products and best practices, effectively communicate to both technical & non-technical audiences, as well as to develop and grow a team of highly motivated analysts.

A tertiary qualification in an engineering or scientific domain is essential.
Additionally a knowledge and experience in travel or rail industry is a plus.
