About the opportunity
Currently at Castrol we have a fantastic opportunity for a driven and resilient Retail Sales & Merchandising Manager within our Retail and Resellers team covering Western Australia. This role will afford you a high level of autonomy and will see you responsible for maximising sales opportunities of Castrol branded lubricants and associated services across retail accounts within WA. You will be accountable for the development, growth & management of a portfolio of customers as well as having a focus on identifying and winning new business. You will achieve this by strengthening customer relationships, maximising ranging with well thought, innovative merchandising and the activation of marketing activities.

Key responsibilities also include:
Develop and implement a territory plan to maximise sales and ranging across all retail outlets in line with the Retail Strategy
Seek new business opportunities in line with the stated year plan.
Achieve sales and profit targets. Understand the relationship between turnover, gross margin and the cost to serve customers.
Utilise the Customer Management Tool daily to manage customer activity and ensure effective reporting on the territory and market
Development and implementation of unique forward looking customer business plans and
Develop strong business relationships with all internal teams and other sales teams.
Undertake post-activity evaluation on customer activity and promotional programs for its effectiveness
Proactively evaluate competitor and "general market" promotional activity for the purposes of developing "new" activity
About your experience
As a fresh thinking and strategic individual you will have had significant retail experience and understand the importance of putting the customer at the heart of what we do. You will possess an analytical and have used this with great success in previous roles across Account Management and Business Development. You will also have had planning experience and an ability to grasp technical information. You may be currently working within Telco or FMCG or the Automotive and associated industries in B2B looking for the next step in your career.
You will also have experience in:
An understanding of market research, brand strategies and the development of strategic promotional initiatives
Strong time management skills
Understanding of the Lubricants business preferable
An understanding of the retail market combined with how to exploit to their advantage brand strategies and strategic promotional initiatives
Experience in managing relationships with national or large (multiple contact levels) retail accounts
Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills, both written and oral
